Essential Skills Work Category
Essential Skills Work Category offers you the opportunity to have a temporary work visa only if you can prove thay you have a genuine and appropriate job offer from a right employer acceptable by Immigration New Zealand.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for temporay work visa under Essential Skills Work Category you must:
- have the skill level of an occupation (ranging from skill level one for the highest skilled positions, to skill level five for the lowest skilled) under ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations); and
- do tasks and duties normally undertaken in a given occupation; and
- have the level of the qualification and/or amount of work experience required to work in a given occupation; and
- most importantly, have a job offer which must come from a New Zealand employer who can prove Immigration New Zealand that there are no suitable New Zealand workers available to do the job.
