Studying in New Zealand
Any oversea's person who wishes to study in New Zealand must meet certain rules and requirements.
If you are going to study for more than three months, you will need a student visa except if you are a:
- citizen of New Zealand or Australia; or
- holder of a New Zealand residence class visa; or
- holder of a current Australian permanent residence visa including a current Australian resident return visa
- student undertaking short courses which are approved or exempted by New Zealand Qualifications Authority, for no more than three calendar months duration in total.
Student visa requirements
To apply for a student visa to study in New Zealand, you need to provide evidence of the requirements set below.
- Offer of place OR confirmation of enrolment OR evidence of scholarship
- Health certificate
- Medical and travel insurance
- Police certificate
- Evidence of funds
- Outward travel tickets
