UK travellers Working Holiday Visa

Starting July 1, 2023, updates to the New Zealand Working Holiday Scheme (WHS) will allow UK citizens to travel and work in New Zealand for a longer period.

In July 2022, the Prime Ministers of the UK and New Zealand first announced the planned updates to the WHS, as well as the Youth Mobility Scheme for New Zealand travelers to the UK.

These updates are a positive development for Kiwis and Brits who want to work and explore the other side of the world, as well as for the businesses that hire them.

Here are some of the key updates to the WHS:

  • The maximum length of stay in New Zealand will be increased from 12 months to 23 months for UK citizens.
  • The age limit for UK citizens will be increased from 30 to 35 years old.
  • There will be no limit on the number of UK citizens who can apply for the WHS each year.

These updates are expected to make it easier for UK citizens to travel and work in New Zealand, which will benefit both countries.

The UK and New Zealand have a strong relationship, and these updates are a further sign of the close ties between the two countries.

The updates to the WHS are also expected to benefit businesses in both countries. By providing access to a larger pool of workers, the updates will help businesses to fill labor shortages and grow their businesses.
